Il moschetto Carcano mod. 91 differisce dal fucile mod. 91 essenzialmente perché:
- a) è più corto
- b) ha il manubrio ripiegato, per facilità di trasporto
- c) ha una baionetta ripieghevole e fissa, a sezione triangolare
- d) la bacchetta è in due pezzi ed è alloggiata nel calcio

Moschetto 91
Esistono due tipi di moschetto 91:
Il moschetto 91, di cui sono armati i reparti di cavalleria, carabinieri Reali, ciclisti ecc. e il moschetto 91 per truppe speciali, per le truppe del genio e talune cariche speciali.
Il moschetto 91 differisce dal fucile 91 essenzialmente perché:
a) è più corto e più leggero;
b) ha il manubrio ripiegato per facilità di trasporto;
- c) ha l’alzo che si gradua solo sino a 15 hm.;
d) ha una baionetta triangolare congiunta al moschetto, e ripieghevole;
e) non ha copricanna;
f) la bacchetta è in due pezzi ed allogasi nel calcio, per cui a calciolo ha uno sportello a scatto;
9) ha gli attacchi della cinghia sistemati sul fianco della cassa.
il moschetto 91 per truppe speciali è simile al precedente però ha il copricanna, la cassa è più lunga e la bacchetta di un sol pezzo. Inoltre ha una sciabola baionetta simile a quella del fucile, ma con la molla sotto il cappuccio invece che di fianco.
Vi è pure un moschetto 91 per truppe speciali simile al precedente ma con gli attacchi della cinghia sistemati sul fianco della cassa.
Musket 91
There are two types of musket 91:
The musket 91, of which the cavalry, Carabinieri Reali, ciclisti ecc. and the musket 91 for special troops, for the troops of genius and some special charges.
The musket 91 differs from the rifle 91 essentially because:
a) it is shorter and lighter;
b) has the handlebar folded for ease of transport;
c) has the rise which is only graded up to 15 hm;
d) has a triangular bayonet jointed to the musket, and foldable;
e) has no cover;
f) the wand is in two pieces and annexed to the stock, whereby the butt has a snap-on door;
9) has the belt attachments placed on the side of the box.
the musket 91 for special troops is similar to the previous one but has the cover, the case is longer and the wand is one piece. It also has a bayonet saber similar to that of the rifle, but with the spring under the hood instead of the side.
There is also a 91 musket for special troops similar to the previous one but with the strap attachments placed on the side of the casing.
Moschetto 91/38. Cal. 7,35
E’ simile al moschetto 91 dal quale differisce per possedere le caratteristiche già riscontrate nel fucile 38 nei confronti del fucile 91.
In distribuzione ai reparti G.I.L.
Esistono inoltre il moschetto per truppe speciali (del genio e per talune truppe speciali) e il moschetto 91/24(ricavato direttamente dall’accorciamento dell’arma) dal fucile 91 in modo da conservare però sempre il passo da 20 cm in volata. Entrambi questi moschetti sono simili a quello mod. 91. Hanno però il copricanna, la cassa è più lunga, la bacchetta è di un sol pezzo, la baionetta non è fissa e ripieghevole ma distaccata dall’arma e inastabile.
Il moschetto, come il fucile, è l’arma caratteristica del fante. E’ sempre un’arma efficacissima, specie se impiegata, come il combattimento moderno richiede, alle piccole distanze: non oltre, cioè, i metri 300.
Musket 91/38. Cal. 7.35
It is similar to the musket 91 from which it differs to possess the characteristics already found in the rifle 38 against the rifle 91.
In distribution to the G.I.L.
There is also a musket for special troops (of the genius and for some special troops) and the 91/24 musket (obtained directly from the shortening of the weapon) from the rifle 91 in order to always keep the 20 cm wheelbase. Both these muskets are similar to the mod. 91. But they have the cover, the case is longer, the wand is one piece, the bayonet is not fixed and foldable but detached from the weapon and inastabile.
The musket, like the rifle, is the characteristic weapon of the infantryman. It is always a very effective weapon, especially if used, as modern combat requires, at small distances: not over, that is, 300 meters.
