La misura riportata è di 1,85 metri per lato ed era di forma quadrata. Presentava al centro una apertura sagomata che permetteva di infilare la testa, al fine di adoperarlo come mantellina impermeabile. In tal caso, andavano slacciati da una parte e dall’altra, i bottoni che si trovavano sull’apertura centrale sagomata.
The reported measurement is 1.85 meters per side and was square in shape. It had a shaped opening in the center that allowed the head to be inserted, in order to use it as a waterproof cape. In this case, the buttons on the shaped central opening were loosened on both sides.
Venivano poi legati i quattro lembi sul dritto del telo al fine di fermarli con bottoni predisposti. Tali lembi, però potevano rimanere volanti, permettendo cosi di coprire una superficie maggiore. Si infilava poi la testa nella parte centrale, facendo in modo che l’apertura e la stoffa di riporto presente su essa, si adattasse alle spalle e sul collo. Le falde laterali del telo, venivano poi fermate ai polsi, oppure le falde stesse venivano piegate sino alle spalle fino a formare una specie di giubbone senza maniche.
The four flaps were then tied on the obverse of the cloth in order to stop them with buttons. These flaps, however, could remain flying, allowing it to cover a larger surface. Then he put his head in the central part, making sure that the opening and the stuffing material present on it, fit on the shoulders and on the neck. The side flaps of the cloth were then stopped at the wrists, or the flaps were folded up to the shoulders to form a kind of sleeveless jacket.
Questo telo consentiva di costruire gia di per se una tenda, infatti veniva consegnato assieme a parti di bastoni d’acciaio ed a picchetti. Con l’uso di piu teli si potevano costruire tende piu o meno larghe. La mimetizzazione era formata da chiazze rossicce sagomate ed arrotondate con spruzzi verdi e avana. Il rovescio non aveva una vera e propria mimetizzazione, ma era di tonalità rossiccia.
This cloth allowed to build a tent in itself, in fact it was delivered together with parts of steel sticks and stakes. With the use of more sheets, more or less large tents could be built. The camouflage was formed by reddish blotches shaped and rounded with green and havana splashes. The reverse did not have a real camouflage, but was reddish in color.
