Berretto rigido
Il berretto degli ufficiali, identico a quello dei marescialli, era di colore grigio-verde con tutti i tipi di uniforme ad eccezione di quella da sera, con la quale, e nei casi previsti dal regolamento, si portava il berretto nero; con l’uniforme estiva, compresa quella da sera, il berretto era di colore bianco.
Per tutti gli ufficiali i fregi erano ricamati in cannutiglia dorata su panno grigio-verde per i berretti dell’uniforme invernale ed estiva e su panno nero per quelli dell’uniforme da sera.
Rigid cap
The cap of the officers, identical to that of the marshals, was gray-green in color with all kinds of uniforms except for the evening, with which, and in the cases provided for by the regulations, the black cap was worn; in the summer uniform, including the evening one, the cap was white.
For all the officers the friezes were embroidered in golden tinsel on a gray-green cloth for the winter and summer uniforms and on black cloth for the uniforms of the evening uniform.

The grade badges for the upper and lower officers were made up of gallons and gallons woven in gilded metallic thread, applied around the cap band and sandwiched with gray-green silk threads for winter and summer caps, black for evening wear ; for service officers the threads were of the distinctive color …
Berretto mod. 1934

Il copricapo in foto è un berretto rigido grigio verde con grado di Capitano della Fanteria. Al centro, in metallo poteva esserci una croce che poteva indicare l’appartenenza ad una scuola, poteva essere un ufficiale fuori Corpo o poteva appartenere all’Amministrazione, nel nostro caso il Capitano è del 3° Rgt (Reggimento) Fanteria “Piemonte”. Il nastro del grado su sfondo grigio verde indica che il Capitano è un ufficiale d’arma. Se lo sfondo fosse stato di un altro colore, l’ufficiale doveva essere dei Servizi.
The headgear in the picture is a gray-green hard cap with the rank of Captain of the Infantry. At the center, in metal there could be a cross that could indicate the belonging to a school, could be an officer out of body or could belong to the Administration, in our case the Captain is the 3rd Rgt (Regiment) Infantry “Piemonte”. The grade ribbon on a gray-green background indicates that the Captain is a weapon officer. If the background had been of another color, the officer had to be a Services.
Ai lati del cappello, a mantenere il soggolo in cuoio, ci sono due bottoni, solitamente dorati con lo stemma dell’arma di appartenenza, in questo caso, sempre Fanteria.
C’è da sottolineare che il berretto mod. 1934 non è identico agli altri. E’ importante capire che ci furono numerosissime case tessili o cappellifici che ne forgiarono a migliaia ed ognuno di essi era commissionato personalmente dall’ufficiale acquirente.
On the sides of the hat, to keep the leather subject, there are two buttons, usually gilded with the emblem of the weapon of belonging, in this case, always Fanteria.
It should be noted that the cap mod. 1934 is not identical to the others. It is important to understand that there were numerous textile houses or hat-makers that forged thousands of them and each of them was personally commissioned by the official purchaser.
